OMAHA (DTN) -- Mostly beneficial Midwest trends, stressful Delta heat, generally dry and hot in Russia, variable China conditions, an active India monsoon, and mild trends in Brazil coffee area temperatures are the main weather items for the commodity trade's attention Friday.
Mostly Beneficial Midwest Trend
The DTN ag weather forecast calls for the prevailing weather pattern to continue to feature thunderstorm chances for the central and northern part of the western Midwest and the northern part of the eastern Midwest, with less activity elsewhere in the region. Net drying is possible in the south and east-central areas during the next 10 days.
Stressful Delta Heat
The driest and hottest area during the next 10 days appears to cover the Delta and the western part of the southeast region (Alabama). Crops come under increasing stress during this period. Areas farther east may be cooler at times with a few thundershowers at times.
Generally Dry and Hot in Russia
Russia and Kazakhstan patterns show little change during the next 10 days. However, there appears to be at least a chance for a few isolated showers in the area from time to time as slightly higher humidity combined with strong daytime heating could cause a few thundershowers in some sections. Rainfall levels continue at well below normal or none over a fairly late area, while temperatures continue at mostly well-above-normal levels.
Variable China Conditions
In China, scattered showers and variable temperatures will favor developing crops across Manchuria during the next 7-10 days. Crops across the North China Plain will come under increasing stress due to hotter temperatures and less-than-ideal rainfall during this period.
Favorable Texas Heat
Drier and hotter weather during the next 5-7 days will favor developing cotton in west Texas and open boll cotton in south Texas.
Active India Monsoon
In India, an active monsoon continues to impact many areas along with Pakistan. Local areas of the extreme southeast may still be drier and not everyone with get rain every day, but this is a good monsoon at this time.
Mild Brazil Coffee Trend
Beneficial conditions continue in Brazil's coffee belt. There is no significant cold weather in sight.
