Corn Shifts Farm Bill Dynamics

WASHINGTON (DTN) --- The EPA decision to lower next year's target for the Renewable Fuels Standard is factoring into decisions about commodity programs in the farm bill.

House Agriculture Committee Chairman Frank Lucas, R-Okla., told reporters Tuesday the downward trend in corn has the potential to pull down prices for other crops as well.

"Suddenly you have changed the supply dynamic and the demand dynamic and the pressure that is already applying to corn will cascade among all the grain markets," Lucas said.
