WASHINGTON (DTN) -- USDA pegged new-crop corn ending stocks at 1.837 billion bushels on slightly lower production and yield estimates. The stocks-to-use ratio came in at 14.5%. USDA lowered the national average yield to 154.4 bpa.

For soybeans, USDA lowered production to 3.255 billion bushels, which dropped the stocks-to-use ratio to 6.9% from last month's estimate of 9%. Acreage changed by less than 1% after USDA resurveyed farmers in 14 states.
