USDA Weekly Crop Progress

OMAHA (DTN) -- Corn planting completed increased by 7 percentage points in the week ended May 5, but corn emergence only increased 1 percentage point in those seven days, according to USDA's weekly Crop Progress report.

Twelve percent of the nation's corn was planted in the last week, compared to 5% last week and a 47% five-year average. Three percent of the crop had emerged, compared to 2% last week and a 15% five-year average.
