A potent storm will remain off-shore this afternoon but will continue to produce snow over eastern New England. The heaviest snow this afternoon will be over eastern Maine and the Cape and Islands with snow diminishing over New Hampshire, Rhode Island and the rest of eastern Massachusetts. Overnight snow will continue to affect eastern Maine while the rest of the region dries out. Snow totals will reach 5-8 inches from southern Boston to the South Shore and Cape Cod.
