A warm front will continue to bring rain showers to areas generally along and north of I-40 and west of the Cumberland Plateau this afternoon. This evening and tonight, rain showers will push eastward across southeastern Kentucky and the northeast corner of the Tennessee Valley. Some freezing rain will occur in northern portions of the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains. Meanwhile, another round of rain showers may clip western portions of Kentucky, Tennessee, and northwest Mississippi after midnight. Ice accretions of a trace to 0.10 inch are expected.
