From now through this afternoon, a warm front will lift northward across the region with rain showers affect areas generally along and north of I-40 west of the Cumberland Plateau. This evening and tonight, rain showers will continue to affect Kentucky, Tennessee, southwestern Virginia and northwestern North Carolina. Some freezing rain will occur in portions of the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains. Ice accretions of a trace to 0.10 inches are expected.
