Railcar Shortage Complicated

SASKATOON, Sask. (DTN) -- Grain transportation remains the Achilles' heel of agriculture in Western Canada, but the problem doesn't rest entirely with poor railway performance and solutions will not be easily achieved. Those were some of the conclusions at a Grain Handling and Transportation Summit held March 26 in Saskatoon.

Organized over a short timeframe by the University of Saskatchewan's College of Agriculture and Bioresources, the summit drew a crowd of more than 200 people and featured a long list of speakers.
