SAO DESIDERIO, Brazil (DTN) -- Caetano de Carvalho Berlatto stood in front of soybean plants teaming with pods on an overcast day on his family's 15,000-acre farm in Brazil's eastern Cerrado region.

With a month to go until harvest, he was pleased with his crop.

"Considering we had such a dry January" with just 1 1/2 inches in the month "we are going to have a decent result," said Berlatto, who farms in Roda Velha, western Bahia.
