USDA announced the August Federal Order class prices showing decreases in all classes. Class II is $14.54, down 16 cents from July. Class III price is $16.27, down 6 cents. Class IV price is $12.90, down 25 cents. This is the lowest Class II price for the year despite a very strong butter price. The weakness in nonfat dry milk more than offset the gain of butter. Global Dairy Trade auction prices were higher in all categories except lactose, which showed a decrease of 4.0% to $483 per metric ton or 22 cent per pound. Substantial gains were realized ...
