Milk production in some areas of the country has stabilized due to cooler weather. It has been a good summer so far for dairy cattle in the Central, Northeast, and Mid-Atlantic regions. Hot weather periods have been short-lived, having little lasting impact on cow comfort. Other areas of the country have been dealing with hot weather during longer periods of time and dairy farmers have dealt with it as best they could.
