Outside Markets

The TSX equity index ended 60 points higher at 15,110 with gains also seen in U.S. indices. Asian markets ended mixed on Thursday, with Japan's Nikkei up .4% and China's Shanghai Composite ending 6.5% lower. European markets are also trading mixed. The Canadian dollar is 17 basis points lower at $.7981 CAD/USD, while the U.S. dollar index is .049 lower at 97.425. Gold is $1 higher at $1,186.60/ounce. Crude oil is 3 cents higher at $57.54/barrel while Brent crude is 25 cents higher at $62.31/barrel. Soybeans on China's Dalian Exchange ended higher, Malaysian palm oil ended higher, and ...
