According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base closed $3.34 lower compared with the Prior Day settlement ($83.00-$94.50, weighted average $92.32). Corn futures closed lower, down 3 in the December and down 2 1/2 in the March and May.


Futures closed higher, up 35 to 157. Strong gains developed through the live cattle complex Wednesday on expectations that cash cattle trade may see some late-week support.
