Corn Stocks Still Tightening

USDA threw out a lot of numbers Friday morning. Market interest was focused on corn, which has had a propensity for generating big surprises in the January report. The day of the past six January Grain Stocks and Production reports, there have been five limit moves in corn. The January report results are notoriously difficult to project in advance because USDA is changing acres, yield and feed use simultaneously, with the Grain Stocks report truing up the feed and residual use.
