Professors Review USDA Forecasts

OMAHA (DTN) -- USDA should consider conducting a feed use survey and take several steps to improve the transparency of its yield and production forecasts, a group of agriculture economic professors suggested in a report released Friday.

In addition to reviewing the World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates and Crop Production reports, the professors also looked into issues with the quarterly Grain Stocks report during the year-and-a-half-long study, which was requested and paid for by USDA's Office of the Chief Economist.
