USDA Weekly Crop Progress

OMAHA (DTN) -- Corn condition improved slightly and soybean condition held about steady in the week ended June 29, according to USDA's latest Crop Progress report, while winter wheat harvest is nearing its halfway mark.

Corn is rated 75% good to excellent, compared to 74% last week, with 5% of the crop silking. That compares to a five-year average of 9%.

"USDA's good-to-excellent rating of 75% for corn resulted in a DTN Corn Condition Index of 184, up from last week's 181, up from 165 a year ago, and above the five-year average of 155.8," said DTN Analyst Todd Hultman. ...
