One of the unintended consequences of the changed time for release of USDA's monthly reports (11 a.m. CST as opposed to the old 7:30 a.m. CST), and one I'm sure USDA didn't take into consideration, is that my weekly column will now have to be written before the numbers come out when report days fall on Friday.

This Friday also marks the beginning of my 10th year at DTN, with one of my first duties analyzing the January report with Bryce Anderson on our daily audio program (since replaced by video).
