Ethanol futures posted moderate losses following the lack of support through corn futures Tuesday. March futures posted a 2.1-cent-per-gallon loss, closing at $1.966 a gallon. All nearby futures were unable to find additional support as the lack of support in corn prices is not only affecting expected cost of production, but this could significantly change the overall amount of ethanol available through the next couple of months. Demand is expected to continue to increase through the upcoming weeks, but there will likely be very little widespread market shifts outside the normal moves directed by corn and gasoline markets.
