Ethanol futures posted strong losses once again Thursday as traders focus on the increase of ethanol supplies as well as growing ethanol production rates. February futures posted a 4.7-cent-per-gallon loss, closing at $1.805 a gallon. The lack of support in the market has accounted for an 8-cent decrease over the last two trading session and over 12 cents in the last week. Other nearby contracts posted a 2.4- to 2.6-cent-per-gallon loss. This focus on pressure through the rest of the spring and summer months created uncertainty to the overall complex.
