Ethanol futures posted narrow gains Tuesday following the lack of support through corn markets through the last half of the trading session. February ethanol futures posted a 0.6-cent-per-gallon gain, but this narrow move higher led all other nearby contract prices which posted a 0.5-cent-a-gallon bounce. Front month futures closed at $1.93 cents per gallon as the focus on longer term demand is being outweighed by short-term buying for current supplies. Support in energy markets drew the few buyers that were in the market back to the table, despite the focus on longer term stability.
