Ukraine Grain Exports Up 38%

(Dow Jones) -- Ukraine exported 18.2 million metric tons of grain since the beginning of the current marketing year to March 5, 38% more than in the corresponding period in the previous marketing year, as traders tried to get grain out of the country in expectation of an export ban.

The agriculture ministry said Monday wheat exports to date since the beginning of this year totaled 6.18 million tons, including 5.29 million tons of milling wheat, corn exports totaled 9.7 million tons and barley exports totaled 2.02 million tons.
