Brazil's main center-south sugarcane harvest later this year should yield a record 600 million metric tons of the crop, said agriculture consultancy Safras and Mercado.

RIO DE JANEIRO (Dow Jones -- Brazil's main center-south sugarcane harvest later this year should yield a record 600 million metric tons of the crop, though sugar output probably won't increase due to rising demand for ethanol, agriculture consultancy Safras and Mercado said Monday.
