(Dow Jones) -- Strategie Grains Thursday increased its estimate of the European Union's 2013-14 soft wheat harvest by 0.8 million metric tons to 134.2 million tons, mainly due to higher acreage in Germany, Austria, Poland and Hungary.

"On August 12, soft wheat harvest was in progress across the EU. It is now almost finished in Southern and Central Europe, is progressing in France and just starting in Britain. Reports from the harvests suggest good yields in most producer countries," said the grains forecaster.
