Rotation Resistant Rootworm

DECATUR, Ill. (DTN) -- Western corn rootworms have once again out-maneuvered man and science. Last week, University of Illinois entomologists Michael Gray and Joseph Spencer announced finding significant root injury from western corn rootworm larvae in first-year cornfields that had been planted to Bt rootworm hybrids expressing the Cry3Bb1 protein.

The fields were located in Illinois' Livingston and Kankakee counties.
