Higher Yields Noted

(Dow Jones) -- Ukraine's farmers are reporting higher grain yields than last year, when the crop was hit by drought, and have harvested 17.1% more grain than this time in 2013, the agriculture ministry said Monday.

Ukraine harvested 44.5 million metric tons of grain to Oct. 14 on 12.8 million hectares, or 81% of the total area to be harvested, with an average yield of 3.47 tons a hectare, it said.
