DTN Retail Fertilizer Trends

OMAHA (DTN) -- Retail fertilizer prices tracked by DTN for the fifth week of April 2013 remain extremely stable. However, that calm may belie a growing angst as farmers who pre-contracted anhydrous for spring delivery run out of time for application.

Prices for six of the eight major fertilizers slipped lower compared to last month, but these moves to the low side were fairly undersized, DTN's retail survey showed. DAP had average price of $616 per ton, MAP $659/ton, potash $587/ton, urea $571/ton, anhydrous $857/ton and UAN28 $403/ton.
