OMB: Cost of October Government Shutdown up to $6 Billion

The White House Office of Management and Budget reports that the October federal government shutdown will lower fourth-quarter economic growth, cost the federal government more than $2 billion in lost productivity and caused $2 billion to $6 billion in lost economic output. Among other things, the OMB report examines economic disruption, the cost of federal furloughs, the cost of program disruptions and other direct costs to the government.
