Cotton futures edged higher in 2013-14 contracts in tight-range dealings Tuesday to snap a string of three straight losing sessions.

Benchmark December closed up 11 points to 84.38 cents, trading within a tight 68-point range from up 63 points at 84.90 to down 5 points at 84.22 cents. It couldn't muster follow-through momentum in either direction after pushing in early morning above Monday's high.

Maturing October settled up 42 points to 83.43 cents, March closed up 11 points to 84.29 cents and December 2014 eased 12 points to 79.55 cents.
