STREATOR, Ill. (DTN) -- The U.S. Senate agreed Tuesday, May 13, to debate HR 3474, a bill which contains a provision to renew retroactively to Dec. 31, 2013, the $1 gallon blender's tax credit for biodiesel and renewable diesel and extend it through Dec. 31, 2016.

The bill has not come up for debate in the House yet, a spokesman for Senate Finance Committee Chairman Ron Wyden, D-Ore., told DTN Wednesday morning.

"The Senate voted to invoke closure," he said. "The bill is being debated on floor right now." The bill passed out of the Finance Committee in April.
