Milk production increased this week in most all areas of the country except the upper Midwest where cold temperatures continue to dominate. Manufacturing milk supplies are strong with some manufacturers still selling milk in order to limit product production and limit inventory. The milk/feed ratio in February improved to a ratio of 2.55, the best since January 2008. This is up from 2.46 last month and up from a ratio of 1.52 last year. Corn price increased 5 cents to $4.47.
