Regional reports of milk production have not yet been resumed, but producer reports indicate slowly improving milk production. Most of forage has been harvested for the year with soybeans and corn still to come off. Feed supplies are more plentiful with rations being balanced for optimal milk production. The result of this may be a substantial improvement in milk production over the next months as some cows begin new lactations and replacement heifers come into milk production.
