Higher cheese prices resulted in a surge in trading interest in 2013 contracts. However, futures prices did not move much as a result. Despite the lack of news in the industry, traders were active. Futures markets rely on volatility to bring traders into the market as well as getting them to exit the market. This creates opportunities. The lack of news many times minimizes market movement.
