Milk production is showing some signs of bouncing back from pre-hot-weather levels. However, it may not have to bounce back very much, as production is outpacing year-ago levels. Manufactures indicate milk supply is tight, but one has to wonder if it is more of a perception than reality. Higher milk production than a last year and higher stocks of dairy products leads me to believe manufacturers would rather be busier than they are. The inability to purchase extra milk without having to pay a significant premium does not work for many and hinders keeping plants full. Class III futures ...
