Reports continue to circulate over the amount of production that has been affected by the hot weather. Western and Southwestern states have been affected more with reports of production losses upwards of 15%. The Midwest and East are beginning to feel greater impact from hot weather, but so far, production has been steady. Even though the impression might be given that milk supply is tightening, it does not seem to be the case. A decrease in milk production is seasonal, but certainly varies from year-to-year. We will get some idea of this as the milk production reports are released. ...
