The all-milk price for February declined 50 cents to average $19.40. This is a good price historically, but not enough to improve the milk/feed ratio. Feed prices continue to remain high making profitability limited or non-existent. Bottling and manufacturing plants are easily receiving required volumes and then some. Plants have been absorbing excess milk to keep operations full and to rebuild inventory. This may become a burden soon if milk receipts continue to remain strong at the same time demand slows.
