Milk receipts in the Central region of the country continue to surpass expectations and continue to increase on a weekly basis. On a regional basis, milk production in December increased 4.2% over last year in the Central region. Spot milk continues to be offered for as much as $3 below the market in order to entice buyer interest. Milk plants in the Western region of the country indicate receipts are lower than last year. The California Department of Food and Agriculture released a panel recommendation to temporarily increase the Class 1 milk price for the state by 5 cents, ...
