MILC Program Extended Through Sept. 1

OMAHA (DTN) -- The Milk Income Loss Contract program has been extended through Sept. 1, 2014, U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency Administrator Juan M. Garcia announced on Friday.

The extension of the MILC program will protect dairy farmers enrolled in the program through Sept. 1, or until a new margin protection program becomes operational. According to the FSA announcement (http://bit.ly/…), contracts for eligible dairy farmers enrolled in the MILC program on or before Sept. 30, 2013, will be automatically extended until the end of the program.
