US Cattle Placements Seen Up 10%

(Dow Jones) -- The number of young cattle entering U.S. feedyards in October was predicted to be up 10% from a year-earlier, when placements were the lowest in decades for that month owing to a spike in grain prices, according to a Wall Street Journal survey for a federal cattle-on-feed report.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is scheduled to release the report at 3 p.m. EST (2000 GMT) Friday.
