GENERAL COMMENTS:

Strong pressure is developing across lean hog futures late in the week. Traders are uncertain about short- and long-term demand for pork as well as the inability to draw additional cash buyer interest back into the hog market at the end of the week. Live cattle and feeder cattle futures are mixed to slightly higher, but narrow trading ranges will keep most traders on the sidelines. Corn futures are trading lower in early trade. The stock market is trading higher. The Dow Jones Index is 8 points higher while Nasdaq is up 6 points.
