The cash hog trade is generally steady this morning with neither buyers nor sellers making much noise. Note that Monday's kill will again cut by about 50,000 head as three plants (i.e., Swift at Worthington and two Hormel facilities) take floating holidays. Packers and feedlot managers are facing yet another 11th-hour cattle trade. Movement in the South yesterday was little better than light to moderate with Kansas marking close to 14,000 and Texas selling between 2,000 and 4,000 (all at $119).
