GENERAL COMMENTS:

Livestock futures are expected to start the week mixed to mostly lower. The surge in placement numbers in the cattle on feed report is expected to be the main news that will be traded early Monday. Both cattle and hog traders are expecting demand to improve over the next several weeks, which could help to clear additional product. Corn futures are trading lower in early trade. The stock market is trading lower. Dow Jones index is holding a 34-point loss while Nasdaq is down 2 points.
