GENERAL COMMENTS:

Livestock futures are called mixed with cattle futures holding moderate gains in front of opening pit trade. Lean hog futures are currently mixed in a narrow range with nearby gains being offset by pressure in the deferred contracts. Corn futures are trading mixed in early electronic trade. Stock markets are lower in light trade.

LIVE CATTLE:

Opening call: Steady to 20 cents higher. Traders are expecting light support to develop in the live cattle futures market. Even though any gains may be minimal, they are still expected to be gains through early trade. This in itself may help ...
