GENERAL COMMENTS:

The cash cattle trade was not tested Tuesday with just a few preliminary bids floated around the circuit (e.g., $141 basis Kansas). A few asking prices were identified around $144 to $145 in the South and $230 to $232-plus in the South. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base compared with the Prior Day's closing weighted average is .70 higher ($67.00 to $80.50, weighted average $78.91).
