GENERAL COMMENTS:

Cash cattle markets remain undeveloped Tuesday afternoon with bids still hard to find. This could easily push active trade into Thursday or Friday given the desire for each side to dig in their heels and hold their position. Cattle are priced near $141-$142 in the South and $225-plus in the North. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base compared with the Prior Day's closing weighted average is $1.04 higher ($69.10 to $79.50, weighted average $78.71).
