GENERAL COMMENTS:

Feedlot country was generally quiet with just a few starter bids of $132 evident in parts of the South. Asking prices were around $136-plus in the South and $216 to $218 in the North. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base compared with the Prior Day's closing weighted average is .11 lower ($73.00 to $80.00, weighted average $77.13). Corn contracts finished 1 1/4 to 1 3/4 cents lower, pressured by aggressive selling in the bean pit.
