GENERAL COMMENTS:

Light cash cattle business surfaced in parts of the South with prices $1-$2 lower at $130-$131 (mostly $131, $1 lower). Elsewhere, bids and asking prices were poorly defined. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base compared with the Prior Day's closing weighted average is $2.14 lower ($75.00 to $77.50, weighted average $76.42). The corn market finished generally 4-6 cents higher with the help of spillover buying from the bean pit.
