GENERAL COMMENTS:

Cash cattle trade was slow Wednesday with just a few scattered bids reported. Asking prices are $134 to $135 in the South and $210 in the North. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base compared with the Prior Day's closing weighted average is $0.89 higher ($73.00 to $84.00, weighted average $80.93). Corn futures closed lower, down 3 3/4 in December and down 4 in March.
