Note impact of government shutdown: USDA's Market News has been indefinitely closed due to a lack of government funding. Hence, most of the price data usually posted on this page in not available (NA). Cash cattle country was a virtual ghost town with even token bids difficult to find. Asking prices remained firm at $128-$129 in the South and $200 to $202-plus in the North. The closing Iowa hog base is not available.
