GENERAL COMMENTS:

From Friday to Friday, livestock futures scored the following changes: Oct LC, up .70 Dec LC, Up .60; Sep FC, off .20; Oct FC, up .95; Oct LH, off .65; Dec LH, off 1.18. Despite poor processing margins, cattle buyers were forced to pay more for steers and heifers today. Live business in the South was mostly $124, $1 higher than last week. Active trade developed in the North with most dressed deals marked at $196, about $2 higher than last week's weighted average basis Nebraska.
