DTN Closing Livestock Comments

GENERAL COMMENTS:

Cash cattle trade remained quiet this afternoon with only a few scattered bids reported. Asking prices are around 128-plus in the South and 205-plus in the North. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base closed .52 higher compared with the Prior Day settlement ($69.00-$80.00, weighted average $79.18). Corn futures closed lower, down 5 1/2 to 16.
