GENERAL COMMENTS:

Although the cash cattle market was not sufficiently tested, several large strings in the North surfaced late in the day at $124-$124.50. Last year's weighted average totaled $126.93 basis Nebraska. Additionally, some steers and heifers have traded this afternoon at $125 in parts of Texas, $2 lower than the last good test in that state. According to the closing report, the Iowa hog base closed 0.06 higher compared with the Prior Day settlement ($58.50-$75.00, weighted average $73.45).
